Firsthand Funds was founded by technology industry veterans who believe the secret to successful technology investing lies in understanding the industry from the inside. This thinking is reflected in our investment philosophy as well.

Since the launch of our first mutual fund—Firsthand Technology Value Fund—in 1994, our family of sector funds has continued to expand. Each of our technology funds represents a different investment style and/or strategies within the technology sector, and our latest offering, Firsthand Alternative Energy Fund, focuses on alternative energy and energy technologies.

Because firsthand industry experience is fundamental to our investment practice, members of our investment team have degrees in the sciences and years of firsthand experience in their respective fields of expertise. Using this experience, they work to identify trends before they become widely publicized, as well as helping us to pick the most promising companies from among the crowd of competitors.
