Account Help: Exchanging Shares
Once you have logged in, clicking the View Account button lets you view a list of all of your Firsthand Funds accounts. To the left of each account name is a Details button.

Clicking this button will bring up the Account Position page for that account. You'll see the account number, balance, number of shares, NAV, and total value. Below that, you'll see a Request Transactions area. Follow these simple steps to exchange shares online:
Step 1. Select Exchanges Shares option from the side menu
This will bring you to the Exchange Request screen. You will see your account name and number, and a space below, where you can select the type of exchange you'd like to make.
Step 2. Select Type of Exchange
There are four exchange options to choose from. You may exchange shares in terms of: Dollar amount Number of shares Percent of shares All shares Enter either the dollar amount or the number/percent of shares into the box to the right of your option, or select the "All shares" option. Because online transactions may only be in whole numbers (no fractions), you do not need to include decimal points.
Step 3. Select your destination account
Select the destination account. A destination account is the account your shares (or cash amount) will be deposited to; this may be either an existing fund or a new fund. If you select a new account, an account number will be assigned automatically, and you will see it on the Verification page. Because this is a new account, you will be asked here to confirm that you have read the prospectus. For your convenience, a new account confirmation will be sent to you in the mail.
Step 4. Confirm Your Transaction
Clicking the OK button will take you to the final step in the transaction process. You will be presented with an Exchange Verification screen, summarizing your transaction.

At this point, you may click the Continue button to complete the transaction, or the Cancel button to void the transaction. Clicking the Cancel button will bring you back to the Account Position page. If you choose to complete the transaction by clicking OK, you will be brought to the Exchange Acknowledgement screen, letting you know when your exchange will be processed and giving you a transaction reference number. You may want to print a copy of this page for your records. For your convenience, you will also receive a confirmation statement of all online transactions in the mail.

If you wish to make another transaction, click the Close button, and you will be brought back to that account's Account Position page.

You'll notice that a new option has now appeared on this side menu, called View Pending Trade(s). Selecting this option will take you to a Pending/Canceled Trade Information page, summarizing any pending transactions on this account, including the one you just confirmed. Please note: Once you confirm a trade online, the only way to cancel this trade is by calling Shareholder Services at 1.888.884.2675, option 4, before the close of the NYSE (normally 4:00 P.M. Eastern Time) the day the trade is placed. For trades placed after 4:00 P.M. ET, shareholders have until 4:00 P.M. the following day to cancel. If you have cancelled a trade with them, this cancellation will appear on the Pending/Canceled Trade page.

From the Account Position page, you may either select a new transaction for this account, or choose the Select Different Account option from the side menu, which will bring you back to the Account Login page. You will need to enter your password again in order to be brought back to the Account Portfolio page.
If you do not wish to make any further transactions at this time, click the End Session button, which will log you out of the online transaction area.

Transactions made before the close of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) (normally 4:00 P.M. Eastern Time) will be processed that same day. All other transactions will be processed the day the NYSE is next open for trading.
