Account Help: FAQ
Can I redeem IRA shares online?
No. Because of withholding rules and IRS regulations regarding IRA distributions, online redemptions on IRA accounts are not allowed.

How do I create a valid password?
When you register for online account access for the first time, you'll need to create a password. Passwords must be between four and eight characters in length, and must include at least one letter and one number character. For instance, 5555a is a valid password; 5555 is not, nor is aaaa. For more on how to set-up online access, visit the Account Setup page.

How do I login?
If you've never logged in before, you'll need to register for online account access. It's simple—just follow the step-by-step instructions on the Account Setup page.

I already logged in once; why am I being asked to log in again?
You will be asked for your password whenever you use the Select Different Account button. This is a safeguard that ensures that, if you forget to log out of Account Access and step away from your computer, someone else may not conduct a transaction on your account. You will not be asked to re-enter your social security number or TIN.

I exchanged shares on one of my accounts, but I don't see any pending trades.
One of two things is happening: 1. You may not be viewing the account with the pending transaction. The View Pending Transactions button will only appear on the Account Position page of the affected account. Make sure you are on the correct Position page. 2. It could take a few minutes for the button to appear on the website—wait a few minutes and click the Refresh button.

I purchased shares online last week, but I don't see any pending trades.
The View Pending Transactions button stays active only until the day following the day the transaction is entered. For example, if you purchase shares online Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. Eastern Time (ET), the View Pending Transactions button will be visible from that time until 4:00 P.M. ET Friday.

What are the online transaction minimums/maximums?
Online minimums and maximums are outlined in tables on the Transaction Minimums/Maximums page.

Will I be charged fees for conducting transactions online?
With the exception of an $8 fee for transactions involving the wiring of money, Firsthand Funds does not charge fees for any of the online features outlined here. However, your bank or other financial institution may charge their own fees for processing transactions. Check with your bank for more information.

Will I receive confirmation statements for online transactions?
Yes. A confirmation statement will be sent in the mail for every transaction you conduct online. We suggest you print out the confirmation page during the transaction in case you have any questions about the transaction prior to receiving the mailed statement; that way, you will have something to reference if you call a Shareholder Services representative.
